Do u know that something as ordinary as fatigue can lead to depression? This is possible when you do not take the time out to rest but instead choose to keep on until you burn out. Fatigue can affect your mind’s performance, which will result in dangerous repercussions to the entire body. Hence the need to always take a break at intervals during work hours. Once your body or mind demands a rest, take the few moments out and just relax.
In today’s success-driven world, many people desire to get rich at all costs, even at the expense of their mental and physical health. Working two jobs is not wrong, especially when your financial situation demands it. But it’s wrong to neglect your health for any reason. There’s a common saying that health is wealth.
In her book, “HEALING YOUR DEPRESSION,” Apostle L’Tanya C. Perry, MDiv. wrote,“Fatigue is a general feeling of tiredness experienced by people after stressful activity or exertion. The stress or exertion could be physical, mental, or both. It can sometimes be a health condition requiring medical attention. When tiredness persists more than the normal time required for strength to be regained, rest or sleep suddenly becomes unrefreshing, depending on the level of stress you are exposed to. Then it is the actual time to apply a more serious approach to the situation.
Actually, there is a risk of such a situation degenerating into depression, causing a feeling of unproductivity and consequently worthlessness. For people whose perception of life and essence depends on how well you can achieve or the level of impact you make in whichever sphere of influence you find yourself in, the situation is more critical as they give themselves to work rigorously with no time for rest.
Response to depressive fatigue for those individuals who would avoid the temptation of being overworked to the point of breakdown. The best curative response to its eventuality is a mental reorientation to enable them to make it easier on themselves and be open enough to understand that the reality of life sometimes violates our thoughts and self-expectations.”
The world’s greatest success stories aren’t about people who worked themselves to death. It’s about men and women who valued their time and used it productively. The hours you work don’t determine your success; it’s what you do with those hours. Many people who know the importance of their health have quit their jobs because they were always tired. Instead, they started their own companies and created adequate time for themselves and their families. Always remember that you need your physical and mental health to be successful. Success at the expense of any of these is not true successLuke 12:15 (KJV) says, “And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.”
